Improve Performance

IMPROVE PERFORMANCE

“No problem can ever be solved by the same consciousness that created it.”
– Albert Einstein

Studying the Alexander Technique helps improve how you do what you do by giving you new insight into the underlying coordination to any activity. As your overall coordination improves, technique of any variety improves. Coming into balance helps improve performance — our movements become more efficient, accurate, effective and expressive. Breath support is maximized, anxiety diminishes, agility, power and control increase and we become more connected to both the intention and enjoyment of what we are doing.
Alexander Technique helps improve performance for:
  • Musicians
  • Singers
  • Actors
  • Dancers
  • Athletes
  • Martial Artists
  • Yoga/Pilates
  • Public speaking

The first time I went to Ariel I was convinced I would never be able to maintain the level of awareness and flexibility she was requesting. Over time, the relationship between my body and my violin became more and more conscious, and the physical freedom that followed was extraordinary. Ariel goes beyond the physical- her suggestion on how to deal with nerves while playing solo Bach is one I think of every time I perform. I highly recommend Alexander Technique to all of my students.

Ariel’s careful and insightful teaching truly changed my relationship with my body. In our lessons, she eased years of chronic joint pain and unlocked new ways of moving that have transformed both how I carry groceries home and how I train as a trapeze artist. I’m tremendously grateful for Ariel’s deep knowledge and sensitive communication.

Ariel has helped my yoga practice by offering suggestions more subtle and accurate than any I have received from a variety of yoga instructors.  She has allowed me to sing more easily by breathing more easily and efficiently.  In short, Ariel has made me more aware of my body and I am now more easily able to accomplish all of my goals.

I began lessons with Ariel with a crunched and stiff neck from my trumpet studies, and left her studio every week feeling like a giraffe! Not only did Ariel lengthen and free my neck weekly, but her passionate, determined and highly practical teaching gave me awareness of how my body was designed to move, as well as the tools to go about my daily life as a musician with considerably more ease. I now experience far less pain and tension, and know how to prevent it when it starts to creep in.
