The Alexander Technique is a simple, practical method for redirecting tension into useful energy. Students learn to reduce strain in order to improve functioning in a systematic and holistic way with gentle hands-on guidance and verbal coaching from their teacher. Developed by F.M. Alexander in the late 1800’s, the Technique helps people around the world to improve performance, reduce pain and avoid injury, and maximize well being.

A unique study of psycho-physical coordination, Mr. Alexander’s discoveries are directly applied to activities ranging from routine  to highly specialized — such as walking, sitting at a computer and carrying a backpack or singing, playing an instrument, public speaking, yoga and competitive sports. Learning to recognize our habitual patterns of interference allows us a choice to direct our movements in an easier and more effective manner, reclaiming more of the superb balance inherent in our design – opening a world of ease, flexibility and improved coordination.
